Culture and History / “Poštovní štola” mine near Zlaté Hory

The first mention of the Poštní štola mine comes from the year 1513. The greatest boom in mining activity occurred in the second half of the 17th century, when nickel-bearing copper ore, later pyrite, were mined here. The hand-cut corridors and chimneys are well-preserved on the various levels of the mine. The tour must be booked in advance and guests are required to familiarise themselves with the visitation rules. The tour lasts two hours, and a minimum of 5 visitors are required. Not suitable for children under 7!
